new jewelry making method
Q.I am looking for feedback on a new method of making jewelry that I have been developing for the past 2 year. I need advice on marketing, pricing etc. The method is very labor intensive. http://www.geocities.com/bbrieezy1/getwireddesigns.html
A.For marketing, you need to get rid of the geocities site, and set up a real site that looks professional. I don't think you'll get high prices if you stay on geocities - - just my 2 cents on that. Secondly, you need to tell potential customers what they're getting. You need to state exactly what your jewelry is made of: Swarovski crystals? Czech crystals? Swarovski glass pearls? What kind of wire? Sterling silver? craft-store wire? sterling silver clasps? handmade clasps? etc. The better the ingredients, the higher the price you can ask. Finally, your photos are way too small. People want detail - - especially for highly detailed work. I would put *ONLY ONE* shot of a model wearing a necklace & bracelet - - maybe at the top or bottom of the page - - just for looks; but you want the jewelry pieces to be really showcased with clear, good quality photos. Use thumbnails on the mainpage, though - - people hate to wait for large files to load on a homepage - - they'll get impatient and leave.
