Loose Round DiamondsQ.Im in a NL hold em tourny, with a decent chip stack, in the first hour of play, on the same table as one of the chip leaders who has been playing wrecklessly and has on 2 occasions shown awful hands which he lost. I find JQ of clubs right next to the button. A bad player raises the minimum, Mr. loose chip leader calls, and I call and the big blind calls. Flop comes 2c 3h 8c, everyone checks to me, I bet 250 into a 450 pot and the big blind goes all in for 1200, mr. loose chip leader calls, and I think and fold. big blind shows A5 offsuit and mr. loose chip leader shows 46 of diamonds. the turn is the 6c and gives the pot to mr. loose chip leader and leaves me kicking myself. Was this lay down wrong? I wanted to push all in. But haven gotten lucky twice already I was playing conservative. A.Two questions. One, did you have anywhere else to be? That is, did you have an advantage getting knocked out of the tourney in the first hour vs. going out five hours later but still out of the money? Two, how many chips did you have? When the bet came around to you, there was T3100 in it, and you'd need to put in T950 to call. About 1 in 3.25 pot odds. You'll very probably win if you get a flush, and you have a decent chance to win if you hit a jack or queen against these loose players (and the BB felt to me like he was just making a move to get you to fold.. if this is live, watch his expression when the chip leader calls unexpectedly). With two cards to come, you have a pretty good shot at one of these outs. But.. the loose player can bet again next round. If the loose player was all-in on the flop, I'd say to call for sure. In this case, you need to take into account the strong possibility that he'll put you all in on the turn or river. So it matters how many chips you have. In the end, I'd probably call if I had something else to do that day (go home early or double/triple up), and fold if I didn't :) Other Questions : Jewelry Man Promise RingDo you feel: * A ring that is NOT a diamond ring an engagement ring or a promise ring.
