Q.in an adjacent building, there was also a companion "Titanica" IMAX movie, showing at 1, 3 and 5 p.m., about the real Academic Keldyish ship and exploration of the Titanic. They also featured a woman's experience of surviving the Titanic as a 7 year old girl. It ran for 50 minutes, and gave a good perspective of the actual dive. I especially liked the black and white photos of the girl and her family, and the actual shipyard building, with different components of the Titanic dwarfing the shipbuilders. Good, but a bit loud, in my opinion.
A.Second to the last exhibit were Jack's Hero outfit and Rose's Hero outfit. I was stunned at how simply elegant and fragile the dress looked like, with the only beadwork being a few pearls bordering the square neck collar. The last item was the famed Heart of the Ocean pendant in a display case, flanked by a security guard. Celine Dion's video was playing in the background. I was surprised at how poor a quality the necklace was. It looked like blue plastic and rhinestones. The blue heart itself seemed to be fading along the facets. I was so amazed at the poor quality of the video - really granular, and the color was pretty weird. At points Celine's complexion looked orange. As we exited the exhibit, we entered a souvenir shop, selling movie posters, books about Titanic and Leo, of course, 2 types of hats - sailor and baseball, a small necklace with a small blue heart, and key chains shaped like a large captain's key, mugs, pins, and blue plastic hearts . (I remember the hearts selling for something like 10 for $5.), etc.
