name plate necklaces..where to find?
Q.I have been searching for relatively cheap nameplate necklace, like many stars have been sporting (christina aguelera, gwen stefani, eve). Also, ones with words like 'rockstar' 'girl' 'glam' etc. I saw a couple in the Delia's catalog,but was wondering if anyone knew any stores that sell necklace like these? I've checked claires and wet seal..hot topic..with no luck
A.If you lived on Long Island you'd be all set by going to the local flea market! I remember classmates getting the gold nameplates for confirmation and the diamond-plated ones as Sweet 16 presents. It's was a Long Island rite of passage. lol I imagine if you go to your local jeweler's they'd have one or be able to order you one. The decent 14K gold ones w/some diamond cut accents shouldn't run you more than $100-200. If you want a diamond plated one like Christina Aguilera's in her new video that could run up a bit $200-300...more if you want something like "Italian Princess'' written out. ;) Otherwise you may have to wait for Claire's to get their act together and get the knockoffs out. I'm surprised they don't have them yet. Good luck and sorry I don't have an actual store name to give you. never realized that, but i did go to h.s. on the guyland, and i've got one of them!! the funny thing is i (obviously) never bother with caps on aol, and the necklace is in all lower-case letters. i don't see anyone wearing them these days, but mine is in some jewellery box somewhere...
