Diamond Heart Pendant.Q.I broke the chain of a diamond heart necklace my fiance gave me last Christmas. I was standing at my dining room table, and immediately lay the chain and pendant on the table. A few days later, I put the chain in a small velvet bag to take to the jeweler for repair. I remember picking up the pendant sometime, thinking I need to put it in a safe place so I don't lose it. (always a bad idea - when I put things in "safe places", they're never seen again.) I've searched the entire house, the velvet bag, every box I own. The pendant is nowhere to be found. Interestingly, I wore a different pendant on a different chain for a couple of days. Then, I decided I would put the diamond heart on that chain, and wear it (which I never did). That chain is now missing, as well, although the pendant that had been on it is sitting on the desk where I left it. No one has been in the apartment except for me the entire time. Can anyone help me??? A.Could either the pendant or the missing chain be tucked in a small enclosure that's near money or photos? Maybe I'm just projecting, because if I have a broken chain or loose pendant that I need to keep safe, I usually tuck it in an old wallet where I keep old coins and photographs. Since your fiancee gave you the pendant, perhaps you placed it near an object that connects to him somehow. Or inside an envelope that contains something important. I just have a sense of the pendant being tucked inside some kind of enclosure - just a guess, I guess. The pendant, that is. It was on a bookshelf in between some pictures and cards. Want to hear the weird part? The cards are from my fiance's family, congratulating me on the engagement! Also on the shelf is a can I keep change in, and a little box where I'm collecting the state quarters! I still haven't found the chain, but I was more concerned about the pendant.
