Bridal Jc Jewelry Penney Shop.

Q.The "chain" store... well, probably no one actually spcified on the order to use genuine, and she was charged for synthetics without being properly informed. Sad. shouldn't happen. but like the jewelry counters in Sears or Penneys, just how much training do you expect that 6 dollar an hour sales clerk to have?

A.The suggestion here is that if you wish to shop for price only, expect to get what you pay for. And be your own advocate. Ask the questions, and get the answers in writing on the reciept if they matter to you. Or better yet, for heavens sakes, shop at real jewelry stores. Find stores where the staff is in it for a career, not a part time summer job, where the people in charge actually know and love the jewelry they sell. Where there may even be a trained gemologist, or at least someone with formal training in gems on staff to work with you if you wish, and I'd prefer as well, a shop where there is actually a jeweler on staff to do the work. There are a lot of fine quality stores who send the actual goldsmithing etc. out to a trade shop, and many of these arrangements work well. But if you're dealing with a store where the shop is actually right there, and the jewelers in that shop actually know what they are doing, your chances of getting good work go way up. My FSIL bought a channel-set diamond band and wanted to have rubies put in alternately with the diamonds. She was so excited because it looked great, and she was surprised at how inexpensive it was to do this at a local chain jewelery store in the mall. She had the ring appraised afterward, and found that the rubies were fake. A similar thing happened to a friend of mine who purchased a 'sapphire' necklace at Sears or JC Penney
