Any good crafty Black jewelry box ideas ?
Q.I am trying (as part of my new year's resolution to clean! sort! organize! and then *wear* my vintage garb) to figure out a way to store my jewelry. Any good crafty jewelry box ideas?
A.-I had once 'inherited' an ugly jewelry box- it was that 'used to be pink' color- but had been owned by someone that smoked and was a yellowish pink- but it had doors that opened out and a bunch of little drawers inside- and it was free!! So I took it and spray painted it black then designed something for the front of it- cut the design out of contact paper and stuck it and spray painted it again.... Came out great!!! -Anything and everything is a jewlery thing. I keep my most-worn stuff on a little black wire "tree" from Oriental Trading's Hall'o'ween junk. Most everything else that i actually wear is in a wee box topped with a tile. (Pretty tiles are easy to get at specialty bath and home decor shops. They almost always have a few lines they've stopped carrying and are willing to let the floor samples go cheap, if not free) Minor carpentry skills will let you make a top to fit the tile with a strip of molding, or heck- just glue it on. -I keep my necklaces on a flat-hanging tie rack on the back of the bedroom door, which also serves to hold scarves and hair things. (I don't have many of any of those, so just one does. ) There's a cheap black lace fan that's always open on the dresser.. standing upright, it could easily hold an assortment of earrings stuck through the lace. Think outside the (jewlery) box.
