Black Diamond
Q.Does anyone know a consumer source where one can purchace a Black Diamond with custom setting?
A.In the July, 1999 issue of Modern Jeweler, black diamond is the feature gem profile. Ambrish Sethi of Manak Jewels* states: "But since most of the cost of a black diamond stems from the labor rather than the value of the material, the difference in cost for melee versus caraters is only double while for whites it is ten times. That makes fine black diamonds in larger sizes an immpressive bargain." I happen to own a "Black" diamond of a little over 1 ct. It is not truly deep black (which would look like coal), but rather a deep grey. It is a nice make. Haven't decided what to make with it yet.
