Brilliant present for 8 year old girl?
Q.I'm looking for suggestions. We have an 8 year old daughter, and our best idea for a relatively big deal Christmas present has fallen through. I'm open to any ideas. We're willing to spend $100-200, though we're certainly willing to spend less!
A.I have a 2-year old daughter and I'm 8 months pregnant. I've been working on a gift for my kids when they're older (maybe 6 or 7). I've been collecting dress-up and costume clothes. I have an old cedar chest (a gift from my mother when I graduated high school) that I'm filling with these goodies. For example, this year I made my nephew a Zorro cape and I'm making a second one for my kids. Last year I made my niece a bridal veil and I have the materials to make another for the chest. I also bought one of those Klutz books on dress-up and I'll add it to the chest as well (it has some GREAT ideas that kids can do themselves!) I also have lots of costume jewelry, beaded purses, etc that I'm saving. I even was going through my Christmas ornaments recently and I came across a pewter dragon that would make a great "amulet" style necklace so it got set aside. I have a huge list of things I'd like to make, buy and find in thrift shops in the next few years. I wonder if the chest is even big enough to hold it all... I would have LOVED something like this as a kid. And I think my daughter will as she's already quite theatrical
