Affordable Wedding Ring Set, Style of Wedding rings ?

Q.We went to try on wedding rings at the weekend and originally I was planning to choose a really plain gold band because I thought that would look best with my engagemet ring (diamond solitaire with yellow gold band) but when I tried them on, they didn't sit closely to the engagement ring and there was a gap which I didn't really like. I then tried on this other ring that was 2 tone gold - yellow gold on edges with narrow white gold band in the middle with the tiniest little diamonds set in the white gold. The diamonds were only on one half of the band, the other half was just plain. When I tried it on, it looked really nice but the only thing that slightly bothers me is how practical is it to have a wedding ring that has diamonds in it? I was just wondering if anyone has bought a similar wedding ring and if you've any comments as to how practical it is for everyday wear.

A.My engagement ring is similar to yours except I have diamonds on either side of the solitaire. I plan on having diamonds in the wedding band also. I think that if they are flush with the band, it makes quite a stunning compliment to the ring. My wedding ring has channel-set diamonds, and I have found it to be quite practical. I've never worn a plain band, but can't imagine it can be much lower-maintenance than this one, except that I like to clean it every now and again to keep the diamonds sparkly. But I'd have to clean my engagement ring anyway; I just put them in together to soak. The diamond ring doesn't seem to be any more liable to be damaged than a plain band, either, and the set of the stones prevents them picking my clothes. So, as I say, I've had a good experience with mine. And I say if it looks great with your engagement ring and the price is manageable, then go for it. I have a family ring and because of its' unique shape and design I didn't want a shadow band...so I opted to wear the ring on my right hand and get matching rings with my fiancee. So when we are married I will wear a matching weddign band on my left with him and wear the engagement on the right. At first I didn't want to, BUT the wedding ring is more important to me then the engagement ring. I too have a diamond solitaire engagement ring. My wedding band is a channel set with 2 rows of tiny diamonds. I absolutely love the way it looks with my engagement ring. The only thing is I have to clean it every once in a while to bring the shine back, but I have to do that anyways with my engagement ring. If the ring you are looking at looks good with your engagement ring and is affordable then why not? As long as you are happy with it then nothing else matters =)
